The headquarters of the European Central Bank (Europaische Zentralbank) is located in
the Eurotower building in the business
district of Frankfurt am Main. The 149 meter tall Eurotower is identifiable from a large
blue euro
symbol (i.e. €) that stands in the park in front of the building.
The European Central Bank is responsible for monetary
policy in Europe. By raising and lowering interest rates, the bank
attempts to maintain price stability within the Eurozone. The European
Central Bank is mandated to be politically independent.
